This pattern is a composition of unconventional variations on simple techniques that will produce a gradual fade between two colors with some super satisfying, uniform 1-by-1 ribbing at either end. It comes in two formats: a lighter, fingering-weight cowl and a heavier, sport-weight cowl. Please note that the notes above refer to the fingering-weight format. The information for the sport-weight version of the cowl can be found below.

Note: This may look like a TV-knitting pattern; however, there are some parts where you will have to pay close attention to your knitting.

Circular Needles (16-inch recommended)

Guage

23 sts by 32 rows for a 4-inch square in stockinette stitch while holding two strands of fingering-weight yarn together

18 sts by 24 rows for a 4-inch square in stockinette stitch while holding two strands of sport-weight yarn together
