Thanks for checking out the Evanescent Shawl!
This large, two-color, almost-rectangular shawl is designed to look like the fleeting moment a fallen maple leaf lands on still water, causing ripples to emanate out from it. Worked separately, the shawl is a relaxing knit composed primarily of stockinette stitch, and it is worked while holding two strands of yarn, so it knits up fairly quickly. The maple leaf is knit in sections and seamed together. The yarn ends are then used to graft the leaf onto the center of the shawl. Although at times it is not a TV-knitting experience, the final product makes a great statement while being wonderfully functional and warm.
Please note that this pattern includes instructions for knitting the shawl and the maple leaf attached to it. Additional sizes of the maple leaf can be purchased via Evanescent's sister pattern: Fallen Maple.
